2027 Stewardship Campaign

Deep roots hold new growth.

Twenty years ago, current and former members of two congregations came together, soon joined by others, and experienced new life at Caldwell. As we look to our future in God's service in 2027, we remember and rejoice in our commitments to one another and those we serve across our city. Our stewardship campaign this year gives us an opportunity to respond to God's call and strengthen our beloved community.

Three movements

Remember. Rejoice. Respond.

Every pledge season we walk the same three steps — because you cannot give well until you have first looked back, and looked around.

Remember God's faithfulness.

Remember

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all the Lord's benefits …”Psalm 103

Generations before us gave their time, talents, prayers, and resources to build and sustain this church.

We are especially grateful for the resurrection of Caldwell in 2006 when a loving, energetic, and committed group of holdouts from Caldwell joined forces with a like-minded group, formerly members of Seigle Avenue and other churches.

Rejoice in how the Spirit moves us.

Rejoice

“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice… Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”Philippians 4:4–6

We are grateful for the legacy given to us and rejoice in how God continues to dwell among us and work through us.

We celebrate our work together as we include different generations and backgrounds, share meals, and reach beyond our walls to support neighbors in need.

Respond with faithful stewardship.

Respond

“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”2 Corinthians 9:7

We respond to this joy by giving. Financial stewardship is essential so that we can build a budget, hire staff, keep the lights on, and say yes to the neighbor who knocks in 2027.

We give with gratitude for what we have received, with love for the people around us, and with hope for the future.

Life together

A look at what we share.

A few glimpses of Caldwell in worship, service, and fellowship — the life your pledge helps sustain.

Why We Give

We give because we experience God's love at Caldwell and want to share it with others. We give not simply because Caldwell has expenses to pay. We give because our faith calls us to offer our lives and our resources in service to God and to one another.

At Caldwell, our giving makes possible the worship, pastoral care, spiritual formation, community, and service that are at the heart of who we are. Your pledge flows within and beyond Caldwell across the city in financial grants to worthy partners, pastoral and volunteer leadership in the community and how we all bear witness to God's justice and love.

What Caldwell Needs This Year

We are asking the congregation for an overall increase of ___% in pledges to sustain our budgeted levels of staffing and ministry in the coming year.

As with our household budgets, Caldwell faces the challenges of inflation and other rising costs that are out of its control — from insurance to utilities and more. Every year, Caldwell's ministries make the most of the financial budget through lean staffing, humble salaries and careful expense control. This year's pledge goal is based on a detailed analysis of our expenses and is only a modest increase over the 2026 budget.

Though faithful stewardship will differ by household, please prayerfully consider what you can do to help Caldwell meet this goal by either increasing the amount of your existing pledge giving, continuing your pledge commitment at its existing level of giving, or making an initial pledge commitment to give regularly.

Why We Pledge

If you already give, why should you pledge? Pledging is very important because it enables Caldwell to budget and plan much better to meet its needs and commitments. The church budget is based on pledged contributions — other giving is appreciated but difficult to measurably anticipate. And remember, all pledges are received with grace and flexibility if one's financial circumstances change.

Take time to read up on all God does through Caldwell and prayerfully consider your promise to Caldwell's future in the form of a pledge. Our invitation is simply to pray, consider, and respond.

A Balanced Church in Action

It's been said that, as people of faith, we live a “cross-shaped life.” We stand on the solid ground of God's creation. We center our lives each week in worship. We reach out and up as the body of Christ so needed in our hurting world.

The graphic below breaks down the church budget into five categories that represent your pledge in action. It shows how expense dollars are allocated to each of the five areas, combining actual dollars spent with how our ministers and staff allocate their time and gifts.

We follow Jesus Christ, who transformed a cross as a means of punishment into a source of life and resurrection. Please take a moment to consider this balanced distribution of members' pledges and other contributions and make a prayerful commitment to what God has in store for us in 2027.

Where we stand

The roots grow as the pledges come in.

Each new commitment sends the system a little deeper. The faint dotted lines are the growth we haven't funded yet.

Figures update as the Stewardship Committee records pledges. Gifts of every size move this line — the median pledge at Caldwell is smaller than most people assume.

Your commitment

Pray, pledge, and commit.

Tell us what you intend to give in 2027. Feel free to make your pledge online as soon as you have prayed over it.

You can make your pledge here in one of two ways.

  1. Use the secure Vanco system to make your pledge and enter your bank account information to enable easy, automatic withdrawals. IF YOU ARE CURRENTLY USING AUTOMATED WITHDRAWALS, please indicate the new amount you plan for 2027 on the pledge form for our records, and you will need to update Vanco as well when you wish the new amount to start.
  2. OR, use the Pledge form to enter your information, which will be handled securely by Caldwell Business Manager Tracey Tolbert.

Only Caldwell's Business Manager knows who pledges what amount. If you need her help at any time, email her at TTolbert@caldwellpresby.org.

Pledge now via Vanco →

  • It's confidential. Only the financial secretary sees individual amounts.
  • It's flexible. Weekly, monthly, quarterly, or once — whatever matches how you're paid.
  • It's a budget. Your number is added to next year's plan before it's spent.
  • Automate it if you can. If you haven't set up your pledge payments as automatic withdrawals, please do — it makes things a lot easier on you and the church.

Please choose ONE installment frequency (weekly, monthly, quarterly, twice a year, or a lump sum) — the total amount will auto-complete.

If this pledge is from a household, please list the names of everyone committed. If you're not sure about the installment amount but know the total you'd like to give, use the "One Lump Sum" field and note your intended frequency (weekly, monthly, quarterly, or semi-annually) in the additional note line.

After deliberate prayer, I/we pledge as follows to Caldwell in 2027:

Prefer paper? Cards are in the pew racks every Sunday. Want to schedule automatic payments straight from your bank account? Follow this link.
