As we return to eating out, gathering with friends, and shopping more, Expand Your Shopping Cart is an initiative intended to increase Caldwell’s support for and engagement with Black-owned and LGBTQ+ owned businesses. As a diverse, inclusive, and justice-oriented congregation, we propose that we intentionally seek out Black-owned and LGBTQ+ owned businesses.
You are invited to use the list on this page to begin to patronize more Black-owned and LGBTQ+ owned businesses and to grow relationships with Charlotte’s entrepreneurs from marginalized communities. You might even want to let them know that you heard about them at Caldwell. Then we hope you’ll share your experiences with the rest of us, especially on the Caldwell Conversations Facebook page.
Expand Your Shopping Cart can be expanded to include businesses owned by LatinX and other marginalized communities with your help. This list will be updated quarterly, so if you have additional businesses to suggest, please contact Marilyn Marks (marilynmarks3@gmail.com) for additions to the Black-owned list and Lisa Raymaker (touchpoint@caldwellpresby.org) for the LGBTQ+ list.
