Meet Us

The Caldwell community is blessed with staff and leaders who are accessible, compassionate and ready to serve all. In addition to its ministry team and staff, the Caldwell community is served by interns from area seminaries and its Session, the lay group that oversees the daily needs of this active, missional, urban church.

Contact them, meet them, get to know them.

John Cleghorn Rev. John Cleghorn, 50, has served Caldwell as pastor since March 31, 2008. Before entering the ministry, John retired from Bank of America as a senior vice president after 18 years in various public relations and public policy roles. Prior to that, John was a reporter for the Charlotte Observer for six years. John’s wife, Kelly, is a teacher at Christ Church kindergarten. They have two daughters – Ellison and Sophie.

anne_edison Anne Hunter Eidson, Caldwell’s Music Director, finds immense joy in enlivening choirs of all ages (including the church’s largest choir–the congregation) as they creatively express faith, struggle, joy and praise through music and worship. A 24-year veteran of leading choirs and progressive church music programs large and small in Charlotte, Raleigh and Chapel Hill, Anne holds a Master of Divinity with Church Music degree as well as a Bachelor of Music Education degree with additional studies. Her community activities include directing interfaith choirs for Mecklenburg Ministries and serving on the board of Hyaets, an intentional Christian community living in a low-income area of Charlotte. Anne’s husband, Jonathan, teaches at Anami Montessori School and serves as Interim Associate Minister at Sardis Baptist Church. They enjoy travel, laughter, music, bananagrams and much more with their children Josh and Allie.

Sally spent 27 in community college student services, the last 15 of those as director of disability services. She is thrilled to be a part of the Spirit-led Caldwell experience and family. “This is a dream job! It was providential that God put me in this place at this time!”
